Sarah Thornbery has the been the Teacher-Librarian for Springboro Jr. High School since Fall 2002. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies Education from Miami University in 2001. After student teaching in 8th grade American History and 12th grade Economics, Psychology, Criminology & Government, she decided that she really wanted to be a Teacher-Librarian to teach research, technology, & literature. Miss Thornbery has always been an avid reader and now she is excited to be able to teach literature. She went on to receive her Master's Degree in Library Media from Wright State University in 2003. Miss Thornbery also received post-graduate work in Computer Technology at Wright State University. She holds the following areas of teacher licensure: 7-8 Social Studies, 9-12 History, 9-12 Geography, K-12 Library Media, and K-12 Computer Technology.
As a surprise to many students, Miss Thornbery does not live her entire life in the library and has other interests besides reading and research. She is very active in her church in the music program with piano accompanying, playing her flute in services, and singing in both the Sanctuary Choir and Praise Team for two services. She also loves to travel and is a huge Disney fan. Miss Thornbery is single, but she does have a beagle named Lucy who is very spoiled. Miss Thornbery also enjoys normal things such as shopping, eating out, and going to movies.
